What is the average shelf life of a S’mores kit?
When kept in a room temperature location, like a pantry or cabinet, the unopened S’mores Kit should last up to three months from your date of purchase. No refrigeration necessary!
What is the best way to toast my marshmallows?
Using the provided bamboo skewers, use a small fire source like our MiniCampfire or stovetop burner to toast your marshmallow. There are visual instructions inside your Kit, as well as MiniCampfire safety instructions. If you have a larger fire source, like a fire pit or bonfire, a longer stick is required; telescoping skewers are an option or doing it the old fashioned way with a twig works if you’d like to rough it!
Place your marshmallow on the end of the stick of choice, hold it above the flames until you see it begin to puff up and become larger, then move the gooey marshmallow around in the flames to toast the exterior to your desired crispness.
What is the difference between the “Plant Based” and “Vegan Friendly” Kits?
Every S’mores Kit we offer is Plant Based, and that means minimal animal based ingredients are used in making the items within the Kits. The traditional graham crackers contain honey, and the traditional caramel is made with dairy. When you need completely animal product or dairy free s’mores, the Vegan Friendly Kits utilize Vegan Certified graham crackers and Vegan Certified coconut milk caramel. Every marshmallow, chocolate (yes, even the ‘white chocolate’), and peanut butter cup is Vegan. Make sure to take a look at the details of each ingredient on our Nutritional Info page!
How do I use the provided toppings?
Our favorite thing about S’mores is how versatile and customizable they can be! Just toasting your marshmallow a little more or less gives a completely different flavor profile. Now, you even have the option to add toppings. We recommend placing your base cracker and piece of chocolate down first, drizzling or sprinkling on your topping of choice, then squishing on your freshly toasted marshmallow sandwiched under your top cracker. Culinary perfection!
I am having trouble lighting my MiniCampfire, what should I do?
MiniCampfire not lighting quicky? THATS OK! There are no accelerants in our MiniCampfires, and no toxic fumes to worry about getting onto your food, so be patient when lighting. The provided matches can be used to light the exposed wood chips:
- light multiple matches and use them at the same time
- light different areas of the exposed wood to increase chance of success
- find a location to place your MiniCampfire with minimum wind exposure
- if not enough wood chips are exposed, melt away some wax and pour out
- have a lighter on hand just in case
